I think my best artwork was my ballet shoe. when I got done with that artwork I remember I was very proud of myself because I have never been that good at art and it looked really good. If I could redo an artwork I would like to redo my landscape. I would probably paint a different landscape and use acrylic paint. I've learned how to be more creative in art and I can use that skill in my future career as a flower shop owner. That was one of the reasons I took art was to become more creative. One thing that i wish I would of done in art is an abstract type of artwork because they seem like a lot of fun.

I used pencil and colored pencils to create my artwork and I looked at some videos to draw the face. I chose this as my artwork because it symbolizes that there outside identity but there is also inside identity. One of my goals for this artwork were to actually draw a good face because I am not very good at drawing facial features. Overall I really like my artwork I think I did a really good job.
I think I am going to do half and half for my artwork. I was going to do collage because I'm not good at drawing people but I want to go out of my comfort zone. So I am going to watch some videos. I did a couple sketches of what I want it to look like. I definitely have to work on the facial features but this was just a sketch.
For my collage I did a moon and stars. I used shiny materials and some buttons to make the moon and stars. I also used little sequence to make it look like small stars in the distance. It took me a while to figure out what I was going to do with my college but I stayed focused and eventually I knew what I wanted to do. I was going to do a 2020 themed collage but I couldn't find enough materials with 2020 related things, so I changed it. The materials I used were buttons, shiny paper, tinfoil, and sequence. Overall this was interesting for me because it was very different.
My artwork is a picture I took that I recreated with watercolor. It is a barn in a field with a sunset background and trees on the horizon line. I used watercolor to create this artwork because I like the way watercolor blends. So it worked well for my sunset. There is no personal meaning in this painting but I still like it. The reason I painted it is because I saw it when I was on a walk and thought it looked pretty. This artwork didn't turn out how I expected it to. Overall I like it and I think I worked hard on it.
When I was done painting my sky I realized it looked more like a rainbow than a sunset. What helped me keep going is that I remembered sometimes when the sun is setting the sky does look like a rainbow. I had to look closer at the picture I took to get the details of the barn I am painting. When I was painting the barn I made a mistake but I am hoping I can cover it up.
For my landscape I want to do a field and an old barn with sunset background.I got this idea when I was on a walk and I passed an old farm I thought it looked really pretty. I wanted the background to be a sunset but it wasn't in the picture so I looked up sunsets and found two that I liked. I want to use watercolor for my artwork because it will make the sunset blend together really nicely. So for my landscape artwork I am going to do a field with a barn and a sunset.
For our painting bootcamp we tested different paints. The paints we tested were acrylic and watercolor. I learned that acrylic is easy to mix but it dries fast. We also made a color wheel for acrylic paint. I learned that watercolor blends well but takes a lot of patients because it takes a really long time to dry. For watercolor we watched tutorial videos and made "mini" artworks. When I was done making my "mini" watercolor artworks I observed them and noticed that the sky blended really well. So I decided that I am going to use watercolor for my artwork. I wouldn't never chosen to use watercolor before so I'm going outside my comfort zone.
My artwork is a drawing of my ballet shoe, and the straps are spelling the word ballet. In the background there are stars. I made my artwork with white charcoal on black paper. I chose white charcoal because i like the way it looks on black paper. The reason I chose to draw a ballet shoe is because dance and ballet are a big part of my life. I work really hard to be the best I can in dance. Dance has showed me what hard work is. My goals for this artwork was to make an artwork that I was proud of. My main goal for me as an artist is to make art that I am proud of. My overall thoughts on this artwork is that it is a lot better than I expected. when I first started I had a very different idea of how i wanted it to look. I went through a lot of changes to get to the final artwork. Overall I really like how it turned out.
Today we did a warm up, we started with change and then webbed it out from there with other words that we thought of that had to do with change. Then we watched a video about Dan Bruggeman. Dan Bruggeman paints landscapes. He goes out and takes pictures of man made thing in nature and he paints them. Then we had to do a drawing like him.My drawing is a man made bridge over a path in nature. I think that the bridge enhanced the area because it makes it easier to look at the scenery.
