For my landscape I want to do a field and an old barn with sunset background.I got this idea when I was on a walk and I passed an old farm I thought it looked really pretty. I wanted the background to be a sunset but it wasn't in the picture so I looked up sunsets and found two that I liked. I want to use watercolor for my artwork because it will make the sunset blend together really nicely. So for my landscape artwork I am going to do a field with a barn and a sunset.

For our painting bootcamp we tested different paints. The paints we tested were acrylic and watercolor. I learned that acrylic is easy to mix but it dries fast. We also made a color wheel for acrylic paint. I learned that watercolor blends well but takes a lot of patients because it takes a really long time to dry. For watercolor we watched tutorial videos and made "mini" artworks. When I was done making my "mini" watercolor artworks I observed them and noticed that the sky blended really well. So I decided that I am going to use watercolor for my artwork. I wouldn't never chosen to use watercolor before so I'm going outside my comfort zone.
My artwork is a drawing of my ballet shoe, and the straps are spelling the word ballet. In the background there are stars. I made my artwork with white charcoal on black paper. I chose white charcoal because i like the way it looks on black paper. The reason I chose to draw a ballet shoe is because dance and ballet are a big part of my life. I work really hard to be the best I can in dance. Dance has showed me what hard work is. My goals for this artwork was to make an artwork that I was proud of. My main goal for me as an artist is to make art that I am proud of. My overall thoughts on this artwork is that it is a lot better than I expected. when I first started I had a very different idea of how i wanted it to look. I went through a lot of changes to get to the final artwork. Overall I really like how it turned out.
